AEM is more cold and heat resistant than ACM and can be classified between ACM and FKM due to its overall properties. Good resistance in additive mineral oils, water and coolants. AEM has good weather and ozone resistance. They are divided into sulfur- and peroxide-crosslinked types, with the peroxide mixtures being more thermally resilient and showing a significantly lower compression set. EPDM has good resistance to hot water and steam, detergents, caustic soda and potassium hydroxide solutions, silicone oils and greases, many polar solvents, many diluted acids and chemicals. Special qualities are recommended for glycol-based brake fluids. EPDM materials are absolutely incompatible with any mineral oil products (lubricants, fuels). They combine these positive properties of PTFE with the elastic behavior of FKM. Due to the significantly higher price level of this material group, perfluoroelastomers are only used when other materials can no longer meet the requirements and safety aspects justify the higher costs.<br \/>Typical areas of application for perfluoroelastomers include the chemical, petroleum and semiconductor industries, high vacuum technology, and aerospace.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1846\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"6\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1846\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">FKM \u2013 Fluro Rubber<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1846\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"6\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1846\"><p>FKM materials are characterized by their very high temperature and chemical resistance. Also worth mentioning are the very good aging and ozone resistance, the very low gas permeability (good suitability for vacuum applications) and the self-extinguishing fire behavior.<\/p>\n<p>The FKM standard material shows very good resistance properties in mineral oils and greases, aliphatic, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, fuels, flame-retardant hydraulic fluids HFD and many organic solvents and chemicals.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the standard FKM materials, various special mixtures are available that are tailored to specific applications through different compositions of the polymer chains and varying fluorine contents (65% to 71%). FKM is generally not resistant to hot water, steam, polar solvents, glycol-based brake fluids and low-molecular organic acids.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1847\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"7\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1847\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">FVMQ \u2013 FluoroSilicone Rubber<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1847\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"7\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1847\"><p>Fluorosilicone elastomers have similar mechanical properties to silicone and are much more resistant to oils and fuels. The thermal application range is somewhat limited compared to silicone. The temperature limits are -55\u00b0C to +175\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1848\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"8\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1848\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">HNBR \u2013 Hydrogenated Acrylonitrile Butadiene<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1848\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"8\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1848\"><p>HNBR is obtained by fully or partially hydrogenating NBR. This significantly improves heat, ozone and aging resistance and achieves very good mechanical properties such as good wear resistance. The media resistance properties are comparable to those of NBR. HNBR has good resistance to some refrigerants. The temperature limits are -30\u00b0C to +150\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1849\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"9\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1849\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">NBR \u2013 Acrylonitrile Butadine Rubber(<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1849\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"9\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1849\"><p>NBR is the most commonly used material because of its good mechanical properties and resistance to mineral oil-based lubricating oils and greases. Good resistance to fuels is usually only achieved with special mixtures. Its properties are essentially determined by the acrylonitrile content (ACN between 18% and 50%). A low ACN content results in good low-temperature flexibility but limited resistance to oils and fuels; As ACN content increases, cold flexibility decreases and oil and fuel resistance increases. The NBR standard material has a medium ACN content in order to cover a wide range of applications with balanced properties. It shows good mechanical-technological values, e.g. high abrasion resistance and good resistance to mineral oil-based lubricating oils and greases, hydraulic oils H, H-L, H-LP, flame-retardant pressure fluids HFA, HFB, HFC, aliphatic hydrocarbons, silicone oils and greases, water up to approx .+80\u00b0C. However, NBR is not stable in aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, fuels with a high aromatic content, polar solvents, glycol-based brake fluids and flame-retardant pressure fluids HFD.<br \/>The ozone, weather and aging resistance is low. However, in the majority of applications, e.g. when the material is wetted with oil, this does not have a disadvantageous effect.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-18410\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"10\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-18410\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">NR \u2013 Natural Rubber<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-18410\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"10\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-18410\"><p>Natural rubber is still obtained from the latex of certain plants. Vulcanizates made from natural rubber show good cold behavior, good mechanical properties and high elasticity. NR vulcanizates are resistant to water, glycols, alcohols, glycol-based brake fluids, silicone oils and greases as well as diluted, weak acids and bases.
